Important information

IORA is an independent industry association initiative. It is not a Government of India portal and does not claim affiliation with or endorsement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or any other government authority.

1. Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with IORA, information may include your name, business or agency name, recruiting-agent registration details, work email, phone number, city, correspondence, membership or event application details, payment status and transaction reference. Payment-card credentials and UPI PINs are handled by the payment provider and are not requested by IORA.

Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps and security logs may be collected to operate, protect and improve the website.

2. How we use information

We use information to respond to enquiries, assess membership applications, verify documents and eligibility, administer membership and events, process and reconcile payments, issue receipts, provide member services, handle complaints, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations and communicate important association updates.

3. Sharing and service providers

Information may be shared with payment processors, hosting and technology providers, professional advisers, auditors, event partners where necessary, and competent authorities where required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety. IORA does not sell personal information. Service providers are expected to use information only for authorised purposes and apply appropriate safeguards.

4. Payments and transaction data

Online payments are processed through a third-party payment gateway. IORA may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, amount, payment method category and payer details needed for accounting, support and reconciliation. Your use of the payment provider may also be subject to that provider's privacy terms.

5. Cookies and analytics

The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies for session management, security and basic functionality. If analytics or non-essential tracking tools are enabled, the relevant notice and consent controls will be provided where required by applicable law. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

6. Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including statutory, accounting, dispute-resolution and recordkeeping requirements. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and requests

You may request access, correction or deletion of personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or raise a privacy concern using the Contact page. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

8. Children and policy updates

IORA's membership and professional services are intended for adults and organisations, not children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children for these services. This policy may be updated from time to time; the latest version and update date will appear on this page.
